Spears Creative Studio      "bringing life to bronze"
Artist Stephen Spears is in the process of creating  "Tears of Sorrow - Tears of Joy" a monumental fountain design for the Fairhope Veterans Memorial Park. The sculpture will be installed high on the bluff of the Eastern Shore overlooking Mobile Bay. The concept for the design was created by Sissy Scott, also from Fairhope.

The sculpture of the woman caressing the folded flag to her heart is "Tears of Sorrow" and represents the ultimate sacrifice made by our Armed Forces in the past, the present and the future. The sculpture of the kneeling soldier giving support to the young boy as he hands him the flag represents passing freedom to the next generation. Everyday these men and women put on the uniform so that we may continue to wake up to the freedoms we enjoy here in the United States.

His love for art and his desire to convey a message of hope, faith, respect and inspiration are the goals he strives to reach and share through his sculpture.
